I suppose this segment in my time with Walden University is quickly coming to an end. Please check out my multimedia presentation. I look forward to all feedback (good, bad, ugly...). Then again, please be kind! :) To my team, thank you ladies for all of your wonderful feedback that I have received this summer. I hope that we have an opportunity to work together again. The video is broken into five segments. It was originally prepared continously and then broken up into video segments (about which I am so not happy). I really wish I could have figured out how to upload it as one file.

Angela- If you post your video to teachertube.com you can then just embed the link to where it can be found as one presentation, but I look forward to watching it! Kassidy

Angela- YOU NEED TO POST THIS TO TEACHER TUBE! It is far too good to let it be segmented like it is now. I thought your news story that you included was PHENOMENAL! With the debates going on at my school right now over the usefulness of ipods and cell phones this would provide me the link to pod casts! Please send me the link where you found that news story! As I watched your video I noticed your transitions were nicely done and your text use was not too much, the only slight alteration you could make is the mic seems to be a little touchy when you said a few words, but let me tell you, you have done amazing work in this class and your potential for success is unlimited. I am so proud of what you have accomplished here! Wonderfully done. And please, please, please send me the link for the news story!

Kassidy

Angela,

I agree with Kassidy! Please post this to Teacher Tube or YouTube. I had to do that with mine because there was not way I could break it up in segments and it was too big for the wiki and for my blog. Both class projects were like that. This is great and it is well done!

Cynthia Harrison

Angela,
I hope you posted your work on a website. I think you did a fantastic job. You had some good elements. I enjoyed all our communication. Good luck in the future.
Jolandra

Angela,
Excellent job! It was nice to see a different take on the same innovation. I think we has similar points and some different ones. I did like the effects that you used. But most of all, as I was already convinced, I can see that you passionately believe this innovation will be beneficial to the classroom. Great!
Erin

The saga continues...
So I have located yet another good program for powerpoint to video conversions. My video is currently very text-rich. I need images and videos.

Week 9 Addition:

Week Nine Responses:

Angela- thank you for the new resources! As always your video is looking great. Keep up the hard work.

Kassidy

Hello Angela. What software is this? I like that you included the information about iPods being dead. But despite that your innovation is a powerful tool. Good call! Is your music permanent or a filler. I like it because it makes your presentation more attractive in a sense. I think I will add music because my information is just text, videos and links. But it has no pizzazz. I can't wait to see the pieces all put together. Oh which program are you leaning towards for final publication?
-Jolandra

Jolandra,
I am going to use the E. M. PowerPoint Converter. It was another free software that I found online. The music is not permanent. I am looking for more instrumental so that it doesn't distract from the content. Thank you for the feedback!!
Angela

Angela, excellent job! I am excited about your project and might even try this new software. Thanks for the great ideas!
Erin

Greetings Ladies!
I have discovered a great software - iSpring. It is an add-on for powerpoint that converts presentations with all animations into a flash file. I generated the following video with this resource.
Week 8 Addition:

I apologize for the mistake :)
I am still working on enlarging the little video. Until then, you may need to adjust your monitors to about 150% to view it without straining. I apologize.

I am still working on answers to a couple of questions. Take a look at my responses so far...

Week Eight Response:

Angela- What a great resource! I appreciate any help I can get with these animation and video projects! The information that you presented was strong and grounded with the research from Rogers. I think that is more than others are doing! Nicely done.

Kassidy

Hi Angela!

Congrats on finding iSpring. I am going to check it out myself. I am having serious video issues this week, but I am recuperating. Good work! I look forward to seeing more.

Cynthia

Angela,
I really like the use of iSpring. I am also impressed with the choice of music. Change agent with Chage goin' come. . .great! I have been looking at different methods of posting my presentation. Are you going to use this for your final presentation?
-Jolandra

Angela,
This is an excellent resource! I agree that the teachers in the classroom with the students can make the best change agents. Nice points! And yes, I am from Georgia =) I teach at North Gwinnett and live in Hall County. I grew up in Gwinnett and went to UGA.
Erin

Angela,

As Erin commented...this is a good start. This task and the S curve have been the hardest parts for me. I am still working on getting mine onto slides and video. Hang in there!

Cynthia

Angela, this is a good start to this week's addition! I like the research for adoption strategies. For early innovators, you could find some examples of people who have already (successfully) integrated podcasting in their classrooms. Just a thought =)
Erin

Angela,
I am reviewing everyone's week 7. Good format. I like how you connected the concepts. I agree a few examples might enhance the impact of the information.
-Jolandra

I have created my first movie. Windows Movie Maker was not as hard as I was afraid it would be. I am still working with the transitions and, of course, necessary information. I look forward to your comments.

Yay! for you! I have yet to get everything converted. I feel asleep converting video this weekend. This is good. I agree with Jolandra and the other comments. I know this is a work in progress and you have made a great start. Just keep in mind to slow it down when there is text and bring that S curve forward. I guess if we went "full screen" when viewing then it would not be a problem. We are just seeing this from a small file. I look forward to seeing more!

Cynthia

Angela, nice job so far! This has been my first experience with MovieMaker too! I would suggest (as people have suggested to me) slow the slides down and make sure there is not too much on one slide. It's difficult view your s-curve information. But other than that, excellent job! Keep up the good work.
Erin

Angela,
I like your collaboration. It does look great! This can be a fantastic tool for presenting information. I think the music adds a great touch. Are you going to add your voice as well as music? I think it would emphasize some of the information. Also, I would suggest breaking some of your pages up to two pages because of the abundance of information per slide. It is a little overwhelming to the eye. How exactly did you get so much information on one page? I tried but my space was limited. I have stuck to PowerPoint because of its space for text.
-Jolandra

Please take a moment to look at my rough draft of the innovation-decision process to use podcasting in higher education. I look forward to your comments.

Angela- I appreciate that with this section of the project you were much more detailed in your research. I also enjoyed the case study that you shared.

Kassidy

Angela,

This is really good! I like the horizontal transition of the slides rather than the vertical for the timeline. I would also suggest that you might want to slow down the transition just a bit or allow for manual transition only. Some people read faster than others. However, if you are like me and you are just getting your thoughts together with these posts, I know that you will be changing things a lot before the final presentation. Good start!

Cynthia

Angela,
Nice job! I like how you focus on a specific example of the innovation in education. My only suggestion would be to slow down the slide transitions and add some pictures. Great!
Erin

Angela,
I think you have excellent support for each of the five steps. The idea of having the dates and not just the information really helps see the progression. I am curious why you started a new presentation instead of continuing with the first one that you started last week. How will you connect the two for the final presentation? I also agree with Erin more visual examples would enhance your presentation as well. Will you be adding voice?
-Jolandra

Angela, I think this is a great start to your project! I like the chart that you found...beneficial!
Erin

Angela-
I think we all still have a lot of work to do, but I think you have the bones of a good project. Did I give you one of the articles that I am using? Because it deals with both cell phones and iPods. IF I didn't please check my research section, it will be in there.

Kassidy

Angela,
Good start to your project. I think the use of statistics to support the research is a good idea. Check out this website. It has a lot of resources for all of our innovation. http://www.speedofcreativity.org/handouts/ Maybe you could use it as a resource. I look forward to seeing what direction you will go next.
-Jolandra

Please take a moment to look at my first two submissions to Dr. Thornburg:
Week 1:
Week 2:

Angela,

I enjoyed reading your paper about iPods. I did not realize they were less expensive than cell phones and I had not thought about the perspective of no monthly fees and that they are considered Web 2.0 devices. You have made some interesting points that I will keep for future reference.

Thanks for sharing.

Cynthia

Angela-
Moviemaker is a wonderful program and very easy to use. If you find that you are having any difficulties please don't hesitate to skype me. kkhetzel. I think you have made a wonderful start. A word of advice don't mess with transitions until the very last thing. They have a tendency to screw everything up. I also have experience with creating podcasts if you need any extra help.

Kassidy

Angela,
The comparisons you made with the three innovations really opened my eyes to some information I was unaware of for podcast. I have attempted making podcast but was not very successful. Do you feel they can be developed with various media or do they only use certain programs?
Jolandra

Jolandra,
Actually, from what I have found so far, they may be generated with practically any multimedia software. It's the production process which I believe is as simple as uploading a video. One article that I read examined the cost-effective process of developing the podcast.

I also found an article that illustrates how students produce podcasts.

~Angela

Angela,
I like how we share the same innovation but brought two different perspectives to the table. I think it is great that we're in the same group to bounce some ideas off one another. Looking forward to it!
